Questions to Ask Before Labiaplasty

A practical list of questions to bring to a labiaplasty consultation, covering the provider, the technique, risks, cost and recovery.

Published August 31, 2026

A consultation is your opportunity to understand what a provider is proposing and whether you are comfortable with them. Bring these questions written down; it is easy to forget them in the room.

About the provider

  • What is your training, and are you certified by a recognised board in this field?
  • How many of these procedures do you perform each year?
  • Can I see how you describe results and revisions to patients?

About the procedure

  • Which technique do you recommend for me and why?
  • What will change, and what will not?
  • What are the risks, and how often do they occur in your practice?
  • What type of anaesthesia do you use?

About cost and logistics

  • What is the total cost, and what does it include?
  • Are follow-up appointments included?
  • What is your policy if a revision is needed?

About recovery

  • What will the first week look like?
  • When can I return to work, exercise, and sexual activity?
  • Who do I contact if I have concerns after the procedure?

If you leave a consultation feeling pressured, rushed, or unable to ask these questions, that is useful information too.
